Using the Translator

Overview

The Translator is a two-panel surface for translating between more than 100 languages, each listed by its native and English name in a searchable picker. Pick your two languages once, then type on either side — the opposite side fills in with the translation. It runs through the same capability-first model routing and per-call billing as the rest of the platform.

How to translate

1. Open Translator from the menu.
2. Pick the two languages with the searchable pickers; the swap button in the middle flips them.
3. Type or paste your text (up to 8,000 characters per side). With auto-translate on, the translation appears moments after you stop typing; switch it off to review your text and press Send yourself.
4. Read the result in the opposite panel — both sides are editable text boxes, so you can copy, tweak and re-translate freely.

Voice conversations

Each panel also has a microphone button: record a sentence and ToRun transcribes it, detects which language was spoken, translates it, and — with voice reply enabled — speaks the translation aloud on the other side. Choosing a model

A model picker lets you decide which text model does the translating. The default is a fast, low-cost model; you can switch to any available text model and your choice is remembered.

Cost and metering

Each translation turn is one AI call and writes exactly one BillingRecord with a full pricing snapshot. Longer texts cost more (billed per token), and the running session total and turn count are always visible at the bottom of the page. Repeated phrases are cached in a translation memory, so re-translating the same content is faster and cheaper — see Translation Engine & Translation Memory for details.

Tips

• The Recent panel lists your previous translations — click one to load its text and language pair back into the form.
• For repeatable jobs (e.g. translating every new blog post), use translation as a step in a no-code workflow.
• Keep auto-translate off while composing longer texts, so you are billed once for the final version instead of on every pause.
