What Projects are
Projects are containers that organize your work in ToRun — a way to group related chats, generated assets, and activity so they live together instead of being scattered across your account. Projects are personal to you.
Why use Projects
- Organization — keep a body of work (a client, a topic, an initiative) in one place.
- Context — work that belongs together stays together, which makes it easier to find and continue.
- Separation — keep unrelated efforts apart so one project's clutter doesn't bleed into another.
Project limits and tiers
Your plan includes a number of projects. The exact allowance depends on your subscription tier.
Going over the project cap (paid extra slots)
If you're a funded user (you have an active subscription/wallet) and you exceed your plan's project limit, ToRun doesn't simply block you — you can keep an extra project as a paid, metered slot:
- The over-cap project is billed on a small daily metered basis (on the order of a dollar per month of usage).
- If your wallet runs out, the extra project is disabled (not deleted) until funds are available again.
- If you delete an over-cap project, the metered slot is reclaimed and billing for it stops.
This keeps you from being hard-walled the moment you cross the cap, while still tying extra capacity to real, transparent cost.
Cost transparency
Any AI work you do inside a project is billed the same way as anywhere else — one BillingRecord per call with a pricing snapshot. The project itself is just an organizing container; over-cap projects add the small metered slot charge described above.
Tips
- Create a project per distinct effort rather than one giant catch-all — retrieval and context both improve.
- If you only occasionally need an extra project, the metered over-cap slot is cheaper than a tier upgrade; delete it when you're done to stop the charge.
- Watch your wallet balance if you rely on an over-cap project — a depleted wallet disables it until topped up.
