Games and apps you make in Canvas can be played together. A game built for it opens a room, and everyone in the room plays the same game at the same time, each from their own browser or phone.
Invite your friends
Open the game's page and press Invite a friend on the room bar to copy the invite link. Anyone with the link can join the room while it is open. A friend without a ToRun account joins as a guest: they pick the name the other players will see and press Join.
Who can play
- A public game. Anyone can open a room and join it, guests included.
- A shared game. Signed-in members can play, and so can guests who have the invite link to a room that is open.
- A private game. Only you can play it until you press Invite a friend, which shares it as a members link first.
The host can remove a player, and anyone can leave or report a room. Messages between players are never stored, and a room closes once nobody has played in it for a while.
On your phone
When a friend's invite link opens in your phone's browser, the room bar now shows Open in the app. If you have the ToRun app, tap it and you are in the same room in the app. Nothing opens on its own; it only happens when you tap. Games that people publish for everyone open in the app too.
Try it
Ask the assistant in a chat for a game you can play with friends, or find one on torun.ai/explore. A game built from several files can also be saved from the canvas panel as one zip with Download (.zip). You can follow every change in the changelog.
