the future of renewable energy
Dæmi um úttak Gert 27 október 2026

Imagine Earth has a toy box of energy. Coal and oil are like batteries we can use only once—and they make the room smoky. Sunshine, wind, and moving water are like toys that recharge themselves every day.

In the future, more houses will have shiny solar “pancakes” on their roofs. Giant windmill pinwheels will spin, and big batteries will save extra energy like putting cookies in a jar for later. Cars and buses will use electricity instead of smoky fuel. The goal is a cleaner, safer playground for everyone.

Now that you’re ten

Renewable energy will grow because solar panels, wind turbines, and batteries are becoming cheaper and better. Since the sun doesn’t always shine and wind doesn’t always blow, power grids must balance electricity from many places.

Large batteries, pumped water storage, and perhaps green hydrogen will store extra power. Smart grids will shift electricity use to times when clean energy is plentiful—for example, charging cars at midday. Countries will also build stronger transmission lines, improve energy efficiency, and gradually replace fossil fuels.
