A Picture Mid-Call, and Fifty Prompts Behind #

The days after the fifteenth of September were mostly about the voice call and the prompt box, plus four fixes that deserve a plain account. Here is what reached everyone.

Show it, don't describe it

Until now, showing the assistant something meant hanging up, opening a chat, uploading a photo and calling back. You can now share a picture during the call itself: on the phone from a row under the orb with Camera and Gallery, on the web from one button. A picture already in your library can be shown without uploading it again, and a PDF can be shared too. The assistant receives the document's text; a long one is cut to its beginning and the assistant is told, so it admits that instead of guessing about pages it never saw.

Type # for a ready-made prompt

The photo-editing, image, video and music studios each open fifty ready-made prompts when you type # in the prompt box: two hundred in all, in all 29 languages, on the web and in the phone app. Each studio has its own set, so a video prompt never lands in a photo field, and you read the whole sentence before you send it.

The phone's chat mic dictates

In the phone app, the microphone in the chat box used to start a spoken session and take you out of the conversation. It now does what it already did on the web: it writes down what you say, and you read it before sending. A long-press lets you pick the spoken session instead.

Four fixes

Restore in the library's Trash had failed on every attempt since May. It works now, and it also brings back what deleting the file had removed elsewhere, such as the video and music pages and the files a project can search.

"Report this content" had ended in an error since it shipped, because the server listened at a different address from the one the apps called. The fix was made on the server, so installed apps work without an update.

After signing up on the web, some people landed on the signed-out home page although the sign-in had worked. They now arrive signed in. And searching your own chats now ignores upper and lower case and accents.
