Morning routine
7:00–7:05 — Wake up
- Alarm across the room; phone stays in Do Not Disturb/Focus mode.
- Turn on bright lights, drink water, open curtains.
- No snoozing: being a night owl means reducing decisions, not relying on motivation.
7:05–7:35 — Exercise first
- 7:05–7:10: Warm-up and mobility.
- 7:10–7:30: Workout: brisk walk/run, strength circuit, or follow-along routine.
- 7:30–7:35: Cool down.
- Front-loading exercise protects the habit most likely to be skipped later.
7:35–7:50 — Shower and dress
- Quick shower.
- Put on the outfit prepared the night before.
7:50–8:05 — Breakfast
- Eat a simple, repeatable breakfast with protein.
- Drink coffee or tea here, not while checking the phone.
8:05–8:15 — Essentials
- Brush teeth and finish grooming.
- Fill water bottle.
- Pack breakfast leftovers or lunch if needed.
8:15–8:25 — Departure check
- Shoes, coat, bag, keys, wallet, transit pass.
- Check only essential information: weather, transit, or navigation.
8:25–8:30 — Buffer and leave
- Use the buffer for any small delay.
- Walk out the door by 8:30 sharp.
Phone-resistance tactic
- Charge the phone outside the bedroom or place it across the room beside workout clothes.
- Schedule Focus mode from bedtime until 8:15, blocking social media, news, video, and browsers while allowing alarms, calls, weather, transit, and music.
- If the phone is needed for the workout, open the routine or playlist the night before and use guided access/app pinning.
If running 15 minutes late
