a wandering cartographer in a floating-islands world
Sample output Made on 27 October 2026

Origin

Kael was born on Veyra’s Reach, a small island that drifted far beyond the established skyways. Its people measured time by cloud migrations and trusted memory more than maps. Kael’s mother piloted messenger skiffs, while his father charted the shifting currents that kept the island connected to the wider world.

When Kael was fourteen, Veyra’s Reach passed through an unnatural storm. By dawn, every familiar star had vanished behind a veil of luminous clouds, and the island’s guiding beacons no longer answered. Kael’s father departed to find a safe current and never returned. Kael escaped aboard an old survey vessel with his father’s unfinished atlas in hand. Since then, he has wandered from island to island, mapping forgotten routes, airborne ruins, migrating settlements, and currents that seem to move with a will of their own.

Kael is convinced that following it will lead him to his father and perhaps reveal why Veyra’s Reach was destroyed.

Fatal Flaw

Kael trusts maps more than people.

He believes every mystery can be reduced to bearings, measurements, and patterns. When evidence contradicts his charts, he assumes the evidence is wrong. This certainty makes him reckless, especially when following his father’s work. He will risk companions, supplies, and even entire settlements to prove that a route is real.

Worse, Kael often treats people like lan
