Your first 10 minutes on ToRun
Welcome. This guide walks you through your first session — from signing up to sending a message and understanding exactly what it cost.
1. Create your account
Go to the sign-up page, enter your email, and verify it. That's it. No credit card required to start — you get a session budget that refills through the day on the Free tier.
2. Pick a mode
Once you're in, you'll see the mode selector. Modes are product surfaces: Chat, Code, Image, Research, and more. Each mode declares the set of AI capabilities it needs, and ToRun's routing pipeline finds a model that covers all of them. You don't need to know which underlying model is running — the platform chooses based on capability coverage, then price and quality rank. You can override the model selection in settings if you want to, but you don't have to.
Start with Chat if you're just exploring.
3. Send your first message
Type anything in the input box and hit send. Watch the response appear. After it completes, a small billing indicator shows the cost of that call inline. Click it to see the full breakdown: input tokens, output tokens, the model used, and the price per million tokens applied at execution time.
4. Find your billing dashboard
Open the menu and go to Billing → Usage in the app. Every AI call you've made is listed here as a separate record with a frozen price snapshot. The ledger is fully auditable — export it any time.
5. Top up your wallet
If your free session budget runs low, go to Wallet and add funds. Usage draws from your wallet balance. Nothing charges automatically beyond what you load.
6. Explore settings
Under Settings you'll find memory controls (see what ToRun remembers about you, or tell it to forget), BYOK (paste your own provider API key to route calls through your account), and language preferences.
That covers the essentials. Ask anything in this thread — we're here.
